Who we are

Jolts ("we", "us") operates joltsapp.com and the Jolts mobile application — a short-form video platform where every video is exactly one second long. Contact: support@joltsapp.com.

What we collect

Waitlist (website): your email address, when you choose to join. That's the only personal data this website collects. We use it to tell you when Jolts launches, and for nothing else.

App (when launched): account details you provide (username, display name, email, date of birth), the content you create (one-second videos, captions, comments), and usage information needed to run the product (device information, activity such as likes and follows, and diagnostic logs). Camera, microphone, and photo library access are used only to create your Jolts, only with your permission, and recordings never leave your device until you choose to post.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not show third-party ad tracking in the app at launch.
• We do not use your content to train third-party AI systems.

How we use data

To operate Jolts: hosting and playing videos, personalizing your feed, keeping accounts secure (login alerts, abuse and spam prevention), enforcing our Community Guidelines, and responding to support requests.

Sharing

Content you post publicly is visible to other users. We share data with service providers who host our infrastructure (e.g., cloud storage, content delivery, email delivery) under contracts limiting their use of it, and with authorities when the law requires it.

Your choices

• Access, download, or delete your account data from Settings in the app.
• Unsubscribe from waitlist emails via the link in any email we send.
• Control camera, microphone, and photo permissions in your device settings.

Children

Jolts is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Accounts require a date of birth at signup.

Data retention & security

We keep data only as long as needed to run the service or as required by law. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes; session credentials are stored in your device's secure keychain. Deleting your account permanently removes your content.

We'll post updates here and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email.
